Drowning Prevention Week 2026 Save the Date - 13 to 20 June 2026

Drowning Prevention Week 2026

Save the date! Drowning Prevention Week 2026 will take place from 13–20 June 2026.

RLSS UK’s Drowning Prevention Week is an annual, nationwide water safety campaign dedicated to helping children and young people learn vital water safety and lifesaving skills.

Every June, the campaign shares important water safety advice with children aged 5 to 17, just before the summer holidays — a time when young people are more likely to be outdoors, near open water, pools, rivers, lakes and the sea.

Why Drowning Prevention Week matters

Drowning is preventable, and nobody should drown. With the right education, awareness and confidence, children and families can enjoy water more safely.

Drowning Prevention Week helps young people understand risks around water, learn what to do in an emergency and develop safer habits before the summer holidays begin.

  • Water-based activity providers

Our mission: enjoy water safely

RLSS UK exists to prevent drowning and support everyone to enjoy water safely. Through lifesaving, lifeguarding and water safety education, the aim is to create communities where no one drowns.

With your support, we can help more children and families learn the skills they need to stay safer in and around water.
