Water Safety Skills Save Lives
Every year, hundreds of families head to beaches, rivers, lakes and swimming pools to enjoy the summer months. Sadly, many people are unaware of the dangers that water can present and the simple steps that can save lives.
That’s why Mighty Splash is proud to support RLSS UK’s Drowning Prevention Week from 13–20 June 2026.
This national campaign helps children, young people and families learn essential water safety skills before the summer holidays begin.

🛟 What Happens During the Session?
As part of your swim, one of our qualified instructors will deliver a fun and engaging water safety mini-session covering:
- âś” The Water Safety Code
- âś” Spotting dangers around water
- âś” What to do if someone gets into difficulty
- âś” How to call for help
- âś” Float to Live techniques
- âś” Simple rescue principles

RLSS UK reports that over the last five years, 3,615 people have tragically drowned across the UK and Ireland.
Drowning is preventable.
By learning simple water safety skills, we can help children and families enjoy water safely and confidently this summer.

Throughout Drowning Prevention Week, every Mighty Splash swimming lesson will include:

As part of our commitment to the community, we’re offering free water safety assemblies to local schools throughout the summer term.
These interactive sessions help pupils understand:

- • Beach safety
- • The Water Safety Code
- • What to do in an emergency
- • How to help without putting themselves at risk
